Care guide
Caring for your Baby Moon pieces.
Hand-woven garments are made to last generations — with a little patience and the right care, they only grow more beautiful with time.
A note on natural fibres
Every Baby Moon piece is woven from created with quality yarns - Rowan, Jaeger and Sirdar. chosen for their breathability, softness, and longevity. synthetic fabrics, natural fibres respond to gentle handling and reward it with years of wear.
The guidance below applies to all our garments. When in doubt, always choose the gentler option.
Washing
- 01
Hand wash in cool water (30°C or below) using a gentle, pH-neutral detergent.
- 02
Avoid wringing or twisting — gently squeeze out excess water instead.
- 03
If machine washing, use a delicate or wool cycle in a mesh laundry bag.
- 04
Wash darks and lights separately on the first few washes.
Drying
- 01
Lay flat on a clean towel to dry — never hang, as this can distort the weave.
- 02
Reshape gently while damp and leave to air dry away from direct sunlight.
- 03
Avoid tumble drying, which can cause shrinkage and weaken natural fibres.
Ironing
- 01
Iron on a low to medium heat while slightly damp for best results.
- 02
Use a pressing cloth between the iron and the garment to protect the weave.
- 03
Steam is preferable to direct heat for wool pieces.
Storing
- 01
Fold and store flat rather than hanging to preserve the garment's shape.
- 02
Store in a breathable cotton bag or drawer — avoid plastic, which traps moisture.
- 03
For wool pieces, add a cedar block or lavender sachet to deter moths naturally.
